BEDMINSTER, NJVerizon Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless service provider, today announced that the long-awaited BlackBerry 6750TM handheld device is available in Verizon Wireless’ 1,200 Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com. BlackBerry loyalists will appreciate that the BlackBerry 6750 is finally available on the most expansive and award-winning wireless network with its secure enterprise connectivity, integrated wireless e-mail and data access, and its functionality as a dual band phone that is also Express NetworkSM enabled.

The BlackBerry 6750 is the first BlackBerry handheld to support a CDMA 1X wireless network. Verizon Wireless’ Express Network, available in thousands of cities and towns across the U.S., was the nation’s first coast-to-coast high-speed wireless 1X network, with average user speeds between 40-60 kilobits per second (kbps) and bursts of up to 144 kbps - similar to, or faster than using some dial-up PC connections. The functional device, which will retail for $499.99 with a two-year service agreement, also facilitates effortless two-way text messaging using Verizon Wireless’ TXT Messaging service on its thumb-friendly keyboard as well as an integrated speaker/microphone and headset jack.
