BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation’s leading wireless service provider, has expanded its already-sizeable retail presence to include Best Buy, the nation’s number one specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances. Beginning on September 19, Verizon Wireless products and services are available in more than 600 Best Buy stores.

“The agreement benefits customers because they have over 600 more convenient locations to purchase Verizon Wireless service,” said Lowell McAdam, chief operating officer of Verizon Wireless. “While Best Buy can now offer their customers many of the products and services normally found in Verizon Wireless stores, we are able to expand our efforts to meet customers where they shop.”

Best Buy will offer a selection of Verizon Wireless’ calling plans, including the affordable and national America’s Choice^SM calling plan and the popular Family SharePlan^SM. In addition, Best Buy customers can purchase a variety of Verizon Wireless data plans, such as NationalAccess – Verizon Wireless’ national high-speed data service based on 1xRTT technology – and BroadbandAccess, Verizon Wireless’ high-speed wide-area wireless data service powered by Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) third generation (3G) technology.

“The addition of Verizon Wireless to Best Buy stores, gives our knowledgeable employees more opportunities for connecting consumers with the phones and services that meet their individual needs,” said Dan Moe, vice president of merchandising, Best Buy. “We are excited about the new possibilities Verizon Wireless brings in the EV-DO technology arena and the future of data communication.”

Best Buy customers can also select from the many Verizon Wireless tested and approved phones, which operate on the nation’s most reliable wireless network, including the recently released LG VX7000 camera phone. This new phone with integrated camera features a rotating lens, embedded flash and video messaging to help capture all of life’s moments as they happen.
