BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless network, and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., the world’s largest retailer, announced today that Verizon Wireless’ INpulse pay-as-you-go service is now available at Wal-Mart locations nationwide. Effective immediately, shoppers at 2,300 Wal-Mart locations nationwide can now purchase Verizon Wireless’ prepaid service to make and receive calls on the nation’s most reliable wireless network.

INpulse pay-as-you-go service is the perfect choice for customers who want wireless service without a monthly bill. With INpulse prepaid service from Verizon Wireless, customers get unlimited IN Calling to other Verizon Wireless customers and unlimited night calling to anyone for $0.99 daily access, and all other calls are just $0.10 per minute, all from the INpulse Rate and Coverage area. Included in their INpulse calling plan are many of the same convenience features and services that customers with one- or two-year contracts receive, such as Get It Now®, TXT, PIX and FLIX Messaging, Mobile Web 2.0SM, Caller ID, Call Waiting and Voice Mail.

“Now that Verizon Wireless’ INpulse service is available in thousands of Wal-Mart locations, customers will get the added convenience of one-stop shopping as well as the reliability and quality they expect from the company with the nation’s most reliable wireless network,” said John Colaiuti, Verizon Wireless vice president, national distribution. “Wal-Mart is a clear leader in the retail industry and we are pleased to extend our distribution and the reach of our products to Wal-Mart’s dedicated customer base.”

“At Wal-Mart, we believe in providing our customers with choices – an assortment of quality merchandise at the best price,” said Laura Phillips, Wal-Mart vice president, entertainment/wireless division. “With the availability of Verizon Wireless’ INpulse solution, our customers now also have access to a wireless prepay option for an incredible value.”

Verizon Wireless customers can also take advantage of international calling with INpulse. Competitively priced for the occasional caller, INpulse customers pay just $0.29 per minute to Canada, Mexico or Guam or $1.49 per minute to other available destinations, plus the standard $0.10 per minute calling rate. If a customer travels outside of the INpulse Rate and Coverage area, roaming is $0.69 per minute, including domestic long distance.

Wal-Mart is a global company with more than 1.3 million associates worldwide and nearly 5,000 stores and wholesale clubs across 15 countries. Ranking as the “most admired retailer” according to FORTUNE magazine, Wal-Mart continues to work to fulfill its promise to its customers.
